BACK TO SCHOOL

Sajad Niyyati

By sarah stenabaugh | August 24, 2017

Program: MDUP – Island Medical Program
Year in program: 1st year

What inspired you to pursue your program?
It was medicine’s challenges that ignited my passion for it. In medicine, a patient presents the physician with puzzle pieces which then require using scientific knowledge, critical thinking, and problem solving skills to put the pieces together and work with the patient to determine the proper care plan. Even though this is often challenging, it is exceptionally exciting as well.

What are you looking forward to most this upcoming year?
It might sound odd, but I am really excited to be back in school after a refreshing year off. I am most excited about the family practice rotations that we will be going to in the first term.

What’s one thing we might be surprised to learn about you?
I do woodworking and carpentry and this past summer I built a backyard chicken coop.

Best piece of advice:
It’s the path that makes you who you are, not the destination.

What superpower do you wish you had?
Flight

Where in the world would you like to get lost?
Spain
