Drs. Elizabeth Rideout, Wendy Robinson and Kate Shannon have been named Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Sex and Gender Chairs. As recipients of the funding opportunity, they will support in-depth investigations in the emerging field of sex and gender science to deepen society’s understanding of how biological and social influences interact to affect health and disease.
A total of 15 researchers from across Canada were selected as Sex and Gender Chairs to increase visibility and drive innovation in a variety of disciplines, ranging from aging, cancer and immunity through to mental health and addictions.
