UBC faculty of medicine MD students Suhkmeet Singh Sachal and Robin Stone have been honoured with awards from the Medical Council of Canada.
Suhkmeet Singh Sachal
Sukhmeet was awarded the Dr. Ian Bowmer Award for Leadership in Social Accountability for demonstrating leadership in social accountability. The award honours medical learners who demonstrated leadership and responded to a community or broader population need by consultatively or collaboratively developing a relevant approach and vision with stakeholders. Through a given initiative, they created an engaged team or partnership that is actively pursuing a socially accountable vision and managing its delivery.
Robin Stone
Robin was awarded the Dr. W Dale Dauphinee Award for Excellence in Medical Education and Assessment for demonstrating excellence in medical education and assessment. The award honours medical learners who have made significant contributions to the betterment and accessibility of medical education and/or assessment practices through innovation within their faculty or between faculties within the health disciplines.
Recipients are awarded $5,000 to be used for studies, books or e-learning tools, and/or conference attendance.
