Louise Nasmith, Professor and Interim Co-Head in the Department of Family Practice is the recipient of the 2018 Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada (AFMC) President’s Award for Exemplary National Leadership in Academic Medicine. The award recognizes excellence for national leadership in academic medicine.
Dr. Louise Nasmith is also the Associate Provost Health at the Office of UBC Health, a fellow with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) and an honorary fellow with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC). For the last decade, she has been working with educators, practitioners, health authorities, and governments to advance collaborative practice and interprofessional education in various jurisdictions within Canada with a particular focus on primary health care.
The award and the associated $1,500 honorarium will be presented to Dr. Nasmith at the 2018 Canadian Conference on Medical Education.
