UBC Faculty of Medicine’s Dr. Tal Jarus, professor in the department of occupational science and occupational therapy, and Dr. Terrance Snutch, professor in the department of psychiatry, have been awarded funding for their cross-discipline projects to explore new research directions.
Their projects are among twenty UBC-led projects that received a combined $5 million from the New Frontiers in Research Fund (NFRF) Exploration stream, which supports research that defies current paradigms, bridges disciplines, or tackles fundamental problems from new perspectives. The selected projects share a unique interdisciplinary approach and the potential for game-changing outcomes in social, cultural, economic, health-related or technological areas that may benefit Canadians.
