Two Faculty of Medicine researchers are successful co-applicants on the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Partnership Engage Grants special COVID initiative grants.
These grants provide short-term and timely support for partnered research activities to inform decision-making from the public, private or not-for-profit sector.
This latest round of funding from SSHRC includes 111 new grants totalling more than $2.5 million.
Faculty of medicine awardees:
UBC researcher: Brett Schrewe, a clinical assistant professor in the department of pediatrics
Project: COVID 19: Identifying and addressing intersecting barriers of gender, sex and race to academic productivity in Canadian Faculties of Medicine during the COVID-19 pandemic
Funding: $25,000
UBC researcher: Suzanne Huot, an assistant professor in the department of occupational science and occupational therapy
Project: Les effets de la COVID-19 sur familles francophones nouvellement immigrantes dans un milieu linguistique minoritaire
Funding: $24,655
