Faculty of Medicine researchers awarded $26 million through CIHR Project Grants

A total of 54 projects led by UBC Faculty of Medicine researchers were awarded more than $26 million in combined funding through the Canadian Institutes of Health Research Project Grant: Fall 2022 competition.

The funding includes:

  • 26 projects led by UBC Faculty of Medicine researchers awarded Project Grants totaling $23.8 million.
  • Nine projects led by UBC Faculty of Medicine researchers awarded Bridge Grants totaling $900,000.
  • 18 projects led by UBC Faculty of Medicine researchers awarded Priority Announcements totalling $1.9 million.

Across the university, 67 projects led by UBC researchers received more than $30 million in combined funding.

On a national level, CIHR announced a total of 382 research grants, plus 93 bridge grants, for a total investment of approximately $325 million. In addition, 190 priority announcement grants were funded for a total amount of $22 million and 12 supplemental prizes were awarded for a total of $375,000.
