Dr. Maria Monsalve
Vicky Monsalve, Senior Instructor in the UBC Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, has been recently appointed to the rank of Commander in the Colombian National Order of Merit by president Juan Manuel Santos of Colombia.
Dr. Vicky Monsalve receives this in recognition of her achievements in the application of genetics to anthropology, pathology and medicine during her time in Canada.
A Colombian Navy ship will visit Vancouver harbor in early May at which time dignitaries on board will recognize Dr. Monsalve.
