Susan Forwell, Associate Professor in the Department of Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy, has been named the Scholar in Residence and awarded the Barbara Sexton Lectureship from the University of Western Ontario’s Department of Occupational Therapy.
Dr. Forwell teaching activities include invisible problems of chronic conditions, and neurorehabilitation theory, assessment and intervention.
Dr. Forwell’s research interests include chronic neurological conditions and their impact on chosen occupations, the occupations of immigrants who have children with a disability, and notions of occupational distress and power.
She is a Principal Investigator at ICORD, a Research Associate at the UBC Multiple Sclerosis Clinic, and a member of F2N2 (Fatigue and Function of Neuromuscular and Neurological conditions).
The Barbara Sexton Lectureship was established in 1999 to reward innovation and excellence in occupational therapy teaching and to foster professional enrichment.
