Natalie Strynadka, Professor, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology was elected Fellow of The Royal Society. The Royal Society is a self-governing Fellowship of many of the world’s most distinguished scientists drawn from all areas of science, engineering, and medicine.
Dr. Natalie Strynadka is a pioneer in the study of proteins and protein assemblies essential to bacterial pathogenicity and antibiotic resistance. Her agenda-setting dissection of the membrane assemblies involved in infection, virulence and bacterial cell wall synthesis is having major impact in the development of therapeutic agents; both antibiotics and vaccines.
All newly elected Fellows will be formally admitted to the Society on Admission Day on July 10, 2015.
