Lakshmi Yatham receives 2016 ISBD Kupfer-Frank Award

Lakshmi Yatham, Professor, Department of Psychiatry receives the 2016 International Society for Bipolar Disorders (ISBD) Kupfer-Frank Award at the recent annual meeting of the International Society for Bipolar Disorders in Amsterdam.

This prestigious award named for icons in the field, Ellen Frank and David Kupfer, is a special recognition award to an individual who has made distinctive and sustained contributions to the field and a lasting positive impact on the mission and objectives of the Society. The legacy award is identified by the Awards Committee in accordance with the nomination procedure.

Dr. Yatham is also the regional head of the UBC Department of Psychiatry and regional program medical director of Mental Health and Addiction at Vancouver Coastal Health. He was recently featured in Thomson Reuter’s The World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds: 2014 as the most highly cited researcher in psychiatry and psychology in Canada and as one of the top 100 in the world.
