Donna Drynan receives the 2016 U21 Health Sciences Teaching Excellence Award

By jwong | August 26, 2016

Drynan-Donna-OSOT 01Congratulations to Donna Drynan, Senior Instructor & Academic Fieldwork Coordinator, Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy for receiving the 2016 Universitas 21 HSG Teaching Excellence Award.

Ms. Drynan is interested in the assessment of clinical competence in the practice education setting, and explores the best ways to teach and evaluate interprofessional education and collaborative practice. Her research interests lie mainly in the area of adult education. She is particularly interested in how Occupational Therapy students acquire competency while learning in the field. As well, she would like to understand the role interprofessional (IP) education plays in the acquisition of IP competencies.

The winner of this award will be provided travel arrangements to the 2017 U21 HSG annual meeting hosted by the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, where the U21 HSG community will have the opportunity to attend workshop where Ms. Drynan will be co-facilitating an inter-professional workshop of a topic of her choosing. The meeting will is expected to take place in September.
