Four faculty members in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine have received awards:

L – R: Diane Roscoe, Judith Isaac-Renton and Martin Petric receive awards at the Association of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Disease Canada’s 2012 Annual Conference.
Diane Roscoe, Clinical Professor, received the 2011 Distinguished Service Award from the Association of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Disease (AMMI) Canada in recognition of her many years of service to AMMI Canada, the Canadian Association of Medical Microbiologists before that, and the field of medical microbiology in general.
Judith Isaac-Renton, Professor, received the inaugural John G. Fitzgerald Outstanding Microbiologist Award from the Canadian Association for Clinical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases for her leadership in public health microbiology, her administrative accomplishments as a director of a successful public health laboratory, her teaching and her research accomplishments.
Dr. Isaac-Renton also received the Gen-Probe Joseph Public Health Award from the America Society for Microbiology for her leadership and service in the field of public health.
Martin Petric, Professor Emeritus, received the Distinguished Service Award from the Canadian College of Microbiologists for his contributions to microbiology in Canada in the areas of research, teaching and involvement in the Canadian College of Microbiologists.
Mel Krajden, Professor, was awarded a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his longstanding dedication and commitment to hepatitis prevention, care and treatment. He is on the National Board of Directors for the Canadian Liver Foundation, and is one of Canada’s premier virologists — leading innovative research, teaching and training in many fields, including hepatitis.
