Faculty of Medicine researchers receive Partnership Engage Grants funding

By Stephanie Chow | October 5, 2020

Faculty of Medicine researchers have received funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council’s Partnership Engage Grants competition.

The funding supports research that will inform decision-making at a partner organization from the public, private or not-for-profit sector.

Dr. Lori Brotto, a professor in the department of obstetrics and gynaecology, is partnering with a B Corporation company Aisle International to translate knowledge for menstrual health, equity, and sustainability of Canadian healthcare students.

In addition, the Partnership Engage Grants competition included a special call to address COVID-19-related research.

Researchers from the School of Population and Public Health received funding to study the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on student and teacher well-being. Researchers involved in this project include Dr. Anne Gadermann, Dr. Eva Oberle, Dr. Jeremy Higgs, Dr. Kimberly Thomson, Dr. Martin Guhn, Dr. Monique Gagne, and Dr. Kimberly Schonert-Reichl.

These researchers will partner with the BC Ministry of Education and examine inequity, supports, and adaptation strategies for an intersectoral response to the pandemic.
