Dr. Sandra Jarvis-Selinger

Two faculty members Gurdeep Parhar, Executive Associate Dean, Clinical Partnerships and Professionalism and Sandra Jarvis-Selinger, Assistant Dean, Faculty Development are the recipients of the 2015 Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada (AFMC) awards.

Dr. Parhar receives the AFMC May Cohen Equity, Diversity, and Gender Award. This new award, created in 2014 aims to emphasize the importance of excellence in clinical teaching and to recognize an individual in Canada who has provided exceptional clinical teaching contribution. This award recognized Dr. Parhar’s work with equity, diversity and gender initiatives.

Dr. Jarvis-Selinger receives the AFMC Award for Outstanding Contribution to Faculty Development in Canada.  The AFMC Award for Outstanding Contribution to Faculty Development in Canada recognizes an individual or a group in Canada who has made an exceptional contribution in the area of Faculty Development.

The awards will be presented at the 2015 Canadian Conference on Medical Education (Vancouver, BC), April 25 – 28, 2015.
