
Donald Garbuz receives the 2013 John Charnley Award from The Hip Society.
Five faculty members in the UBC Faculty of Medicine and a co-author from Stanford University received the 2013 John Charnley Award from The Hip Society for their paper titled “Diagnostic Accuracy of MRI Versus Ultrasound for Detecting Pseudotumors in Asymptomatic Metal-on-Metal JHA.”
The John Charnley Award is given annually by The Hip Society to a paper based on innovative research, either clinical or basic, encompassing important advances in the management of hip disorders.
The 2013 Award was given to:
- Donald Garbuz, Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics
- Clive Duncan, Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics
- Bassam Masri, Professor and Head of the Department of Orthopaedics
- David Wilson, Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics
- Bruce Forster, Professor and Head of the Department of Radiology
- Brian Hargreaves, Assistant Professor of Radiology at the Stanford University School of Medicine
