Hometown:Burnaby, BC
Program: Family Medicine Residency – Surrey-South Fraser Site
Year in Program: 2

What inspired you to pursue your program?

For me, family medicine is all about relationship building. By knowing my patient’s psychosocial situation, I can integrate their symptoms and illness experience to offer a more meaningful and individualized therapy. The more I know about my patients, the better I can advocate for them. Moreover, I can engage and empower them to take ownership of their health journey.

What are you looking forward to most this upcoming year?

I am excited to take on my new role as Program Chief Resident for UBC Family Medicine Residency this year. I am looking forward to working with my colleagues across the province and collaborating with faculty to create sustainable enhancements to our already outstanding program.

First job

My first job was an after care instructor for Simon Fraser University Summer Camps. I essentially got paid to make up games and play!
