Program: Master of Public Health
Year in program: 2nd year
Hometown: Toronto, ON
What inspired you to pursue your program?
I was inspired to pursue the Master of Public Health (MPH) program because of the way that health is understood from a public health perspective. Having an academic background in interdisciplinary environmental studies, I wanted to be able to get a big picture view of what health is and what promotes, protects, or diminishes it. I also wanted to develop the tools and skill set necessary to explore these things and help promote health and well-being in my community.
What are you looking forward to most this upcoming year?
This may be a bit sappy, but I’m looking forward to another year of learning with and from my peers. SPPH has some very bright, funny, and caring people and I’m excited to see where their paths will lead them.
What’s one thing we might be surprised to learn about you?
I used to be a windsurfing instructor.
Best piece of advice:
From my grandfathers:
- Keep It Simple, Stupid
- Always look three cars ahead of you
What superpower do you wish you had?
Be able to freeze time. It would enable me to linger a bit longer in perfect moments and to have more time to read.
