Harvey Lui, Professor and Head of the Department of Dermatology and Skin Science, was awarded the Presidential Citation Award by the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) in recognition of his international activities to promote global dermatology.

Dr. Lui’s clinical and research interests include photomedicine, psoriasis, vitiligo and dermatologic education. He has been the principal investigator in over 45 research projects, has published over 70 journal articles, has been a visiting professor in over 10 countries and was the recipient of the 2001 UBC Killam Prize for excellence in teaching.
As current President of the International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS), Dr. Lui was instrumental in bringing the World Congress of Dermatology event– an international dermatology meeting – to Vancouver in 2015.
Dr. Lui is also the Medical Director of the Skin Care Centre, the Lions Laser Skin Centre, the Psoriasis and Phototherapy Clinic, as well as the Director of the CIHR Skin Research Training Centre and the Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) Photomedicine Institute.
The award was presented to Dr. Lui during the 2017 Annual AAD meeting in Orlando, Florida.
