MedIT’s Ed Tech team recognized for “Neuroanatomy” video by 2017 MEDEA Awards

MedIT’s Educational Technology team within UBC’s Faculty of Medicine has been recognized by the 2017 MEDEA Awards for their educational video, “Neuroanatomy – The Head and Neck.”

The MEDEA Awards recognizes and celebrates innovation and good practice in the use of media in education around the world.

MedIT’s Educational Technology team supports teaching and learning within the Faculty by producing and creating engaging content – which include video, graphics and animation.

The “Neuroanatomy – The Head and Neck,” video – featuring Drs. Claudia Krebs and Wayne Vogl, Senior Instructor and Professor in the Department of Cellular and Physiological Sciences – explores the highways of the nervous system to help medical students learn about the different parts and processes within the head and neck that allow humans to do a variety of things like breathe, eat and swallow.

It is part of the second season of “Neuroanatomy,” a series of short videos that engage students in deeper learning about key concepts of the brain.
