Drs. Chelsea Elwood and Robert Liston
Two faculty of medicine members have been honoured with awards from the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC) for 2020 and 2021.
Dr. Robert Liston, a professor emeritus in the department of obstetrics and gynecology, received the SOGC 2020 President Award, the highest recognition awarded to a SOGC member.
Dr. Chelsea Elwood, a clinical assistant professor in the department of obstetrics and gynecology, received the 2021 Distinguished Service Award.
The awards were presented on June 25 during the organization’s annual award ceremony.
The SOGC is one of Canada’s oldest national specialty organizations. Established in 1944, the Society’s mission is to promote excellence in the practice of obstetrics and gynaecology and to advance the health of women through leadership, advocacy, collaboration, and education.
The organization has over 4,000 members, comprised of obstetricians, gynaecologists, family physicians, nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals working in the field of sexual reproductive health.
