Biography
As Vice Dean, Education, Dr. Sidhu oversees the Faculty of Medicine’s education and training programs across the province, ensuring accreditation standards are met and programs are effectively integrated. Working in collaboration with government, academic and health partners, he will continue to strengthen and diversify training opportunities for learners spanning a variety of health disciplines.
Dr. Sidhu brings extensive leadership to this role, having previously served as the Associate Dean, Postgraduate Medical Education. He is also an associate professor in the Department of Surgery and a practising vascular surgeon.
Dr. Sidhu has been recognized nationally and internationally for his dedication to education and surgery and is the recipient of multiple awards, including the James IV Travelling Surgical Fellowship, the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada (AFMC) Educator Award, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) Program Director of the Year Award, and the Association for Surgical Education Teacher of the Year. He also serves in multiple leadership roles with the AFMC and RCPSC.
