Hugh Chaun, Clinical Professor Emeritus, Division of Gastroenterology, Department of Medicine receives the Canadian Association of Gastroenterology (CAG) 2016 Distinguished Service Award.
This award honours individuals who have provided distinguished service to the Canadian Association of Gastroenterology (CAG) either by their excellence in research in the area of gastroenterology and related subjects, and thus have provided service, by achieving international recognition for the CAG in their field or provided exemplary service to the CAG. The Distinguished Service Award is also granted to individuals who reached at least the age of 50 and normally have been members of the Association for over 10 years.
Dr. Chaun receives this award for his lifetime of service to the gastrointestinal community locally, regionally, provincially and nationally with endless energy and wisdom. His involvement in multiple areas of clinical gastroenterology and service particularly to the Canadian Association of Gastroenterology have been longstanding.
The award was presented at the Canadian Digestive Diseases Week (CDDW) in Montreal at the Annual CAG Awards Ceremony.
