Five faculty members in the Faculty of Medicine were selected as Peter Wall Institute Early Career Scholars for 2013-2014.
The Institute’s Early Career Scholar Award is available to outstanding UBC faculty at the early stage of their academic careers at UBC. The Institute appoints a cohort of untenured Assistant and recently tenured Associate Professors each year.
The 2013 Early Career Scholar Award recipients in the Faculty of Medicine are:

The Early Career Scholar Award selection is based primarily on the candidate’s research accomplishments and potential, as well as their orientation to interdisciplinary research, and perceived ability to contribute to, and benefit from, the opportunities provided by the program. Each scholar is provided with $10,000 in funding, and an additional $10,000 to be used to secure a course release during their term of appointment. The term of the appointment for this year’s awardees will be from September 1, 2013 to May 31, 2014.
