Program: Family Medicine Residency in Victoria
What attracted you to your field?
I was attracted to Family Medicine because of its diversity. It is a truly unique specialty, in which you can choose from a wide variety of practice types, settings and patient populations. By establishing longitudinal care for your patients, you are able to build a relationship unlike any other.
In 10 years, what UBC moment will you still be talking about?
Likely my experiences working in rural B.C. Being able to provide service in a remote environment was a truly humbling experience.
What’s next for you?
For the next two years, I will be practicing in Campbell River on Vancouver Island, and then we will see! I would love to get more involved in global health, so may end up spending some time overseas.
As you look ahead, what (or who) inspires you?
Honestly, the people that live in our beautiful province. Sharing their stories, challenges, and triumphs is what gets me out of bed in the morning.
Name one thing on your bucket list.
I would really like to do a trip around the world. Travelling is so inspiring and energizing!
