What does the Faculty’s vision Transforming Health for Everyone mean to you as a resident doctor?
I’m one of the first family practice resident doctors part of UBC’s new Rural Immersion Family Medicine training site. We train in a variety of remote and rural areas of B.C. to meet community healthcare needs. I’m based in Quesnel and this program has been pivotal in providing new learning opportunities and strengthening my own clinical experiences through multi-faceted, fast-paced encounters.
What’s your favourite part about training in the community you’re in?
Healthcare is made by the people around it. My favourite part of working in Quesnel is getting to know the myriad of healthcare team members and becoming closer to them. It is incredible knowing we are working towards the same goal!
