Jason Sutherland named Harkness Fellow in Health Care Policy and Practice

By Patricia Angel | May 18, 2012

Jason Sutherland, Assistant Professor in the School of Population and Public Health, has been named as the Canadian Harkness Fellow in Health Care Policy and Practice.

These fellowships, sponsored by the Commonwealth Fund, provide an opportunity for mid-career health services researchers and practitioners from Australia, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom to spend up to 12 months in the United States, conducting original research and working with leading U.S. health policy experts.

Dr. Sutherland will be working with leading U.S. policy makers, governments and researchers investigating incentives for improving coordination of care between settings and reducing the amount of ineffective and inappropriate care.
