Program: Masters of Occupational Therapy
Year in Program: 2
I have always loved the medical field and the passion behind dedicating a part of your life to helping people maintain their health and wellbeing. Occupational therapy gives me the opportunity to follow that passion, as well as the freedom to practice in a variety of professional health care settings with multiple client populations.
I chose UBC because of the holistic nature of the curriculum for my program which includes a balance between in-class and hands-on learning throughout the 24 months. The UBC Master of Occupational Therapy program provides students with supports to fully understand the realities of our profession beyond the walls of the classroom, evident from the multiple training placement opportunities engrained in the syllabus. The city of Vancouver is also a huge plus.
To try out hiking. I’ve been in B.C. for about a year and I still haven’t gone on a hike, so I’d love to do that as well as a cross-province trip next summer.
