Courtney Hanna
Courtney Hanna, a PhD candidate in the Department of Medical Genetics, has received a UBC Killam Graduate Teaching Assistant Award.
The awards are given each year to graduate students who have made an outstanding contribution to teaching and learning at UBC. It carries a $1,000 prize.
Hanna was a teaching assistant for Medical Genetics (MEDG) 419 in the winter terms of 2009 and 2010. Under the guidance of Professor Wendy Robinson, Hanna is looking at genes and chromosomal factors associated with trisomy and reproductive aging. She earned her undergraduate degree in Integrated Sciences (Genetics and Microbiology) from UBC in 2006.
