Director of research and innovation at Genome BC

Dr. Chen Wan is the Director of Research and Innovation at Genome British Columbia, where she leads the Health team and oversees the health and technology platforms portfolio. She collaborates with a broad network of stakeholders across academia, industry, non-profit organizations, provincial government, and health authorities, as well as national and international partners. With over a decade of experience in translational research and strategic partnerships, Chen is dedicated to fostering innovation and driving the responsible adoption of clinical genomics to improve patient outcomes.

Prior to joining Genome BC, Dr. Wan completed her postdoctoral training at the University of British Columbia, where she specialized in liposomal nanoparticle drug delivery systems for both small molecule and genetic therapies. Her research spanned academic and industry environments, providing her with a strong foundation in applied research and innovation. She holds a Ph.D. in Biophysics from the University of Virginia and a mini-MBA from the UBC Sauder School of Business.
