Evan Wood, a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine’s Division of AIDS, was interviewed by the CBC July 23 about a new advertising campaign aimed at ending the war on drugs.
Dr. Wood, along with Professor Julio Montaner, the former presidents of Brazil and Colombia, and Sir Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group, are signatories to an advertisement addressed to U.S. President Barak Obama and Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, headlined, “You can’t end AIDS unless you end the war on drugs.”
Dr. Wood, a delegate to the International AIDS Conference, was interviewed at the gathering in Washington. The CBC story and interview can be viewed here.
Other media mentions of the campaign include The Globe and Mail and a Canadian Press article that ran in other newspapers throughout Canada, including the Toronto Star.
