On April 12, UBC medical students gathered in Vancouver, Prince George, Victoria and Kelowna to celebrate the results of Match Day – the first round of the Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMS), which pairs final-year medical students with residency programs in communities across Canada.
Join us as we share in their excitement and learn more about the next steps for a few of these students.
Jennifer Vandenberg
Matched to: Family Medicine, UBC (Prince George)
“My family and I are thrilled to be returning to Prince George for my residency in Family Medicine. With strong ties to B.C.’s rural north, to live and learn in the region we call home is everything we were hoping for. As a Northern Medical Program grad, I had the privilege of learning from its outstanding preceptors and I am excited to be amongst the incoming group of residents.”
Jake Johnston
