Elspeth McDougall honoured with the 2017 Karl Storz Lifetime Achievement Award

Elspeth McDougall, Professor, Department of Urologic Sciences, was recently honoured with the Endourological Society’s 2017 Karl Storz Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. McDougall is the first woman member of the Endourological Society, having joined the society in 1988, and also the first woman to be awarded this prestigious honour. The annual award is given to a senior endourologist whose lifetime contributions have had a major impact on the field of Endourology.

Dr. McDougall joined the Department of Urologic Sciences as professor in 2013 and serves as the Provincial Coordinator for Health Simulation Education in the Faculty. She is internationally recognized for her laboratory and clinical research in urologic laparoscopic surgery and for teaching courses on fundamental and advanced endourological, laparoscopic, robotic surgery techniques.

The award was recently presented to Dr. McDougall during the World Congress of Endourology conference held in September.
