MEDD 448 Course Co-Director

The Undergraduate Medical Education Office at The University of British Columbia invites applications for the position of MEDD 448 Course Co-Director. This role will require a time commitment of 0.10 FTE, equivalent to ½ (0.50) day per week, for a three year term, and is expected to be filled by a candidate internal to the Faculty. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2019, or upon a date to be mutually agreed.

The Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME) Program is comprised of four geographically distinct sites: Island Medical Program (IMP), Northern Medical Program (NMP), Southern Medical Program (SMP), and Vancouver-Fraser Medical Program (VFMP). There are 288 seats for incoming students each year, with 192 attending VFMP. The distributed medical program aims to increase rural and Indigenous students seeking medical careers, while also allowing students to complete their training in rural and underserved communities.

The successful candidate will provides province-wide leadership for the integration, coordination and quality of curricular and assessment components of MEDD 448.

The successful candidate must possess an MD and be Royal College or CFPC certified (or equivalent). They will have experience and excellence as a teacher, experience in curriculum development and delivery, familiarity with CACMS accreditation standards, and proven skills in collaborative and administrative leadership. The ideal candidate currently holds, or is eligible to hold, an academic or clinical faculty appointment at the University of British Columbia.
