UGME Written Exam Pillar Lead, Student Assessment

The Faculty of Medicine at The University of British Columbia (UBC) invites applications for the position UGME Written Exam Pillar Lead, Student Assessment. This is an administrative role with a 3-year term appointment. The time commitment is 0.20 FTE (1 day per week). The appointee must have sufficient protected time during the work week to fulfill the requirements of this role. The anticipated start date is January 1, 2024, or upon a date to be mutually agreed.

Reporting directly to the UGME Director of Student Assessment, the successful candidate will be responsible for ongoing development and delivery of the Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) assessment modality. As well, the successful candidate will support the UGME Director of Student Assessment by ensuring that objectives and exit competencies of the MD Undergraduate Program (MDUP) are assessed within a programmatic framework.

The successful candidate will hold an MD and/or PhD and must possess teaching experience and excellence within the MD Undergraduate Program (MDUP) at UBC. They should also demonstrate administrative expertise, exceptional organizational and time management abilities, and collaborative leadership skills, allowing them to work effectively with students, faculty, and administrative leaders. Additionally, strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills are essential, and eligibility for or possession of a UBC Faculty of Medicine appointment is required.
