The Faculty of Medicine at The University of British Columbia (UBC) invites applications for the position of UGME Curriculum Lead, Student Professionalism, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. This is a 0.20 FTE (1 day per week) position for three (3) year term with the possibility of renewal, subject to satisfactory review. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2023, or upon a date to be mutually agreed.
The University of British Columbia, Faculty of Medicine, in collaboration with the Provincial Government, is committed to training the health professionals of the future. The UGME Curriculum Lead, Student Professionalism, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion provides educational leadership and planning of Professionalism and EDI curriculum to ensure alignment with the program’s Professionalism Exit Competencies and other competencies related to EDI. The incumbent will work in close collaboration with the UGME Curricular Lead, Indigenous Health, UGME leadership, and course directors to improve the quality and effectiveness of the Professionalism, EDI, and Anti-Racism curriculum and delivery.
The UGME Curriculum Lead, Student Professionalism, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion reports to the Director Curriculum, UGME, and meets regularly with the Chair, Student Promotions and Review Board, the Regional Associate Deans, the Faculty of Medicine Office of Professionalism, and other faculty leaders.
The successful candidate will hold an MD and be Royal College or CFPC certified, or equivalent. The ideal candidate will have teaching experience, experience in curriculum development and delivery, be familiar with CACS accreditation standards, administrative experience, excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaborative negotiation skills, collaborative leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and administrative leadership. Applicants must have a current UBC academic or clinical faculty appointment.
