  • Represent the Gateway Clinic in communications with the CPSBC.
  • Identify and orient an appropriate alternate Medical Director to ensure coverage when unavailable.
  • Ensure all clinic faculty, staff, and activities adhere to CPSBC and other relevant regulatory standards for all health professions represented at the clinic.

  • Support medical residents with Continuous Quality Improvement projects relevant to patient care quality and safety.
  • Participate in clinical service planning and leadership discussions related to the clinic’s development.
  • Oversee clinical quality assurance processes, including chart reviews, peer review facilitation, service evaluations, and supportive staff education.
  • Serve as the Privacy Officer for the Gateway Clinic, ensuring privacy practices and breach response procedures meet provincial requirements.
  • Lead or support resolution of clinical performance concerns and provide guidance during conflict situations involving clinical team members.
  • Contribute to the development, communication, and maintenance of clinical policies, procedures, and protocols aligned with best practices.

The successful candidate must possess:

  • MD degree and active registration in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.
  • CCFP certification (or CPSBC‑approved equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical practice and administrative experience in team‑based primary care.
  • Clinical Faculty eligibility at UBC.
  • CMPA (or equivalent) professional liability coverage.
  • Demonstrated collaborative leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with learners, faculty, staff, and administrative leadership.
  • Experience in quality improvement, clinic operations, and/or team‑based care model development.
  • Strong communication skills that support culturally safe, team‑based, patient‑centred care.

The ideal candidate will also possess the following qualifications:

  • Ability to work respectfully across diverse perspectives and cultural contexts.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote culturally safe environments for learners, patients, and colleagues.

The expected salary range will be $60,000 – $64,000 annually at 0.20 FTE. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
