The Faculty of Medicine, University of British Columbia (UBC), invites applications for the position of Assistant Dean, Research – Fraser.
This is an administrative role with a three-year term appointment, with potential for renewal for a second term, subject to satisfactory review. This position has a time commitment of approximately 0.2 FTE, equivalent to one (1) day per week. Travel is expected within the Fraser Health (FA) region, with occasional travel to Vancouver and across the province, as required.

Reporting to the Vice Dean, Research, the Assistant Dean, Research – Fraser, will provide strategic leadership and serve as the Faculty’s senior academic representative in the Fraser region. The Assistant Dean, Research – Fraser, will provide leadership and support in the following areas:
- Strategic Leadership and Coordination: Advance the Faculty’s research priorities in the Fraser region, implementing Faculty-wide initiatives locally, and advising senior leadership on regional research strategies.
- Program Facilitation and Support: Support faculty, staff, and trainees in research activities, ensuring adherence to policies and guidelines, and promoting knowledge translation into clinical practice.
- External Relations and Partnership Development: Build and maintaining relationships with Fraser Health, SFU, community organizations, Indigenous communities, and other stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and research excellence.
- Governance and Administration: Participate in Faculty and regional committees, provide updates to senior leadership, and contribute to resource planning and policy development.
The successful candidate will hold an MD and/or PhD, or equivalent and either hold or be eligible to hold a UBC faculty appointment. Experience in research leadership, collaborative program development, and working across complex health care organizations is highly desirable.

The expected pay for this position is $30,000 per annum (0.2 FTE).
