Nadine Caron, Co-Director of the Centre for Excellence in Indigenous Health, has been appointed to the federal government’s Advisory Council on the Implementation of National Pharmacare.

“Improving access to prescription medications will help Canadians—especially those with no prescription drug coverage—to stay healthy,” said Minister of Health Ginette Petitpas Taylor. “The work of the Advisory Council will be fundamental to ensuring that Canadians have access to the drug therapies they need at an affordable cost.”

A general and endocrine surgeon in Prince George, Dr. Caron is an Associate Professor in UBC’s Northern Medical Program, and Associate Faculty member of the Bloomberg School of Public Health, John Hopkins University. During her surgical residency she completed her Master’s degree in public health from Harvard University and was awarded UBC’s Top Student Award.
